Plan a Visit to River of Life

Visiting a new church can be pretty intimidating! We know because we’ve all been there. We’ve designed this page to help you prepare for your first visit to River of Life so you will know exactly what to expect.

Welcome!

Here are the answers to some commonly asked questions when considering a visit to River of Life:

Service Times and Location

Our church campus is located at 4302 E Broadway Road, Phoenix, AZ

10am Sundays

Parking

There’s plenty of parking just north of The River campus as well as to the side of it. It’s an easy walk to the sanctuary. We also offer plenty of
parking for those who need special assistance.

Entering the Building

By now you’ve already been greeted by some of the great volunteers standing at the door waiting on your arrival. Our friendly greeters will invite you to join us in the main Lobby just to the left of the main entrance.

Once you arrive to the Lobby, the restrooms are straight forward and to your left. You probably smell the morning coffee, donuts or pastries that are being served in Jehovah Java, our fellowship cafe that opens at 9:00 a.m., each Sunday morning.

The Sanctuary is on your right and several doors are open for your comfortable entrance. As you find a place to sit, look up at the large screens, they will be filled with exciting information about what is happening at The River.

That depends on your child’s age. To start, go to the sign-in table located in the Children’s Center if your child is between the ages of 6 and 12 or down the hallway if they are between the ages of 0-5. After you’ve done that, one of our River volunteers will direct you and your child to their new class to meet their teacher.

Children are a wise investment so we train every teacher specifically to the age group within their care. We have a goal in mind for your child. We intend to give them tools necessary for a successful life every time they visit with us. All of the classrooms are easily found.

If you have children, they are welcome to stay with you, but chances are they wouldn’t want to miss out on our wonderful Kid Zone located in the Children’s Center. There you can check-in your children ages 6-12. Children 0-5 may check-in down the hallway past the restrooms located next to our Children’s Center.

What’s a Service Like?

Our services typically last about 90 minutes.
  • As you walk in, you’ll be greeted by more of The River family, so smile back at them, relax, and stay a while. Make yourself at home and let a porter find you a seat. Better yet, let them show you to it and make a new friend while you’re at it!
  • Now that you’re in your seat just settle in. The hard part’s over. Now you get to enjoy the experience, get a feel for the place, and let yourself become a part of it. You’re in for a treat.
  • As you wait for service to begin one of two things will happen. One, you’ll see our screens located at the front of the Sanctuary display information for you about The River. Or two, you’ll hear someone praying for the service before the band and choir takes the stage. Either way rest assured, our services begin on time.
  • After service, introduce yourself to the people around you. They’re going to want to see you again and when you come back, you’ll have made a friend! Then, if you have children, go pick then up and look at the great things they made you during service.
  • Before you leave, don’t forget to stop by the Connection Point Counter. Our staff will be waiting to personally meet you.

About our Music (AKA Worship)

Well, to put it lightly, we do it big! Our music is a strong point at The River and it’s as diversified as our congregation. And don’t be too surprised when while you’re learning a new song, you hear an old hymn which morphs into some contemporary Christian music, only to be topped off by an old R&B tune that’s been your favorite for years. You just never know. And that’s the beauty of it! Why? Because there’s great freedom found in an unconventional, yet very intentional, praise!

Other FAQs

Come and be comfortable! It doesn’t matter to us what you wear. The most important thing to us is that we get to know you.

We want you to feel welcome at River of Life. But we also want you remain anonymous as you need to as you check things out. You’ll never be asked to stand up, identify yourself, do the hokey-pokey, or anything else that might make you feel uncomfortable.

As our guest, we do not expect any money from you.  We will have an offering during the service, but we encourage you to let the baskets pass you by. The offering is a way for the River of Life family to respond to God and join the mission of the church through their giving. If you’re new, we don’t expect you to give. Our service is a gift to you.
